HOW TO MAKE THE MIGRATION

Upgrade to GA4 manually to retain all your site data. Eventually you will no longer be able to use the current Universal Analytics (UA) to collect new data or access historical data from UA.

By switching manually, you'll retain:

After July 1, 2023, when UA discontinues data processing, you will no longer have access to any historical data from UA. This includes all data from your past Google Analytics account.

If you do not upgrade to GA4, you will not be able to track new users who visit your website after July 1, 2023. This means that you will not be able to see how many new users are visiting your website, what pages they are viewing, or how long they are staying.

GA4 uses a new, event-based data model that provides a more holistic view of customer behaviour across all channels. This can help you to understand how customers are finding your website or app, how they are interacting with your content, and how they are ultimately converting into customers.

GA4 puts a greater emphasis on user engagement than UA. This means that you can track things like how long users are spending on your website or app, how many pages they are viewing, and how often they are returning. This information can be invaluable for understanding how to improve the user experience and boost engagement.

GA4 uses machine learning to help you to predict future audience behaviours. This can help you to identify trends and patterns that would otherwise be difficult to spot. This information can be used to improve your marketing campaigns and target your audience more effectively.

GA4 integrates more tightly with Google Ads than UA. This means that you can use GA4 data to improve your Google Ads campaigns. For example, you can use GA4 data to create more targeted audiences, optimize your bids, and track the performance of your campaigns.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Your previous data in Universal Analytics will not be automatically transferred to Google Analytics 4. However, we can export your data from Universal Analytics before July 1, 2023, and import it into Google Analytics 4.

There are a few reasons why you might want to make the switch to Google Analytics 4 sooner rather than later. First, Google will no longer be supporting Universal Analytics after July 1, 2023. This means that you will no longer be able to collect new data in Universal Analytics, and you will eventually lose access to your historical data. Second, Google Analytics 4 offers a number of new features and capabilities that are not available in Universal Analytics. For example, Google Analytics 4 can track users across multiple devices and platforms, and it can provide more insights into user behavior.

The amount of time it takes to make the switch from UA to GA4 will vary depending on the size and complexity of your website or app. However, the process is relatively straightforward and can be completed in a few hours.

GA4 is a new platform, so it may take some time to get used to. However, Google has provided a number of resources to help you learn about GA4, and there are also a number of third-party tools and services that can make the transition easier.
